How the trial works
Download Mimac from the App Store for free. Install Mimac Connect on your Mac. The trial starts the first time the two connect successfully, not when you download, so setup time never counts against you. For seven days Mimac is fully unlocked: every feature, no watermark, no nagging.
After seven days, sessions end after ten minutes. Reconnecting starts a new ten-minute session. This keeps the app useful for a quick check while making the purchase an easy decision if you use it for real work.
About the launch price
For the first 30 days after release the unlock costs $39.99 instead of $49.99. The App Store shows the current price at the moment of purchase; there is no code to enter. After the launch window the price returns to $49.99 and stays there.
Why one price, not a subscription
A remote desktop app does its job on your own hardware, over your own network. There are no servers to pay for, so there is nothing to justify a monthly fee. The subscription alternative for this kind of setup costs $79.99 a year; a lifetime license from the VNC-based incumbent costs $179.99. One purchase of $49.99 is less than a single year of the former and less than a third of the latter, and it never renews.
The trade-off is honest too: one price means Mimac has to keep earning new customers by being good, rather than by billing old ones. That is the deal.
What is not included
- Tailscale, which is required for use outside your own network, is a separate service with its own free personal plan. Mimac does not resell it.
- Support for iPhone, Vision Pro, Intel Macs and multiple monitors, none of which exist yet. If any of them ship, they arrive as free updates.
Refunds
Purchases and receipts are handled by Apple, and refunds go through Apple too. Use reportaproblem.apple.com and select the purchase. Apple decides refund requests; we cannot see or override them. We would much rather you try the free trial first and only buy once Mimac has proved itself on your network.
Restoring a purchase
On a new iPad, or after reinstalling, open Mimac's settings and tap Restore Purchases. The unlock follows your Apple Account and any Family Sharing group you belong to.
